Marching Thru the Syracuse Parade of Homes

A la Maison is thrilled to be working with Harrington Homes on the accessories and staging of the beautiful new Sophie ranch-style home at this year’s Syracuse Parade of Homes.

It was a busy couple of weeks but the “Sophie” model is dressed and ready for visitors! Starting with the master bedroom… The gray color palette is elegant and soothing – the perfect retreat.

Out silver-finished floral wall panels add a subtle bit of feminine detail over the strong headboard.

Potted faux white dancing orchids brighten a corner with no worry of watering.

Wild boxwood branches in a beautiful vase add a sweeping organic touch to a dresser and help frame the left side of the mirror.

A la Maison’s custom-made industrial wall planters are filled with faux succulents and preserved roses to add drama and create a wonderfully organic focal point. I love to mix and match different shapes to create a unique “living” wall for our clients.

Visit the Harrington Homes model and all the beautiful model homes from June 4th – 19th in Crane’s Brook (off Eagle Village Rd South) in Manlius, New York.

It’s amazing what a new tray and just a few new accessories can do for your cocktail table.

This wooden and iron tray will work in many room design styles from farmhouse to industrial to transitional… Anything really goes with this one!

Bring in an organic element with greenery; some height with candlesticks; and a couple of old books and candles for warmth and you’re done.

Tray shown and accessories can be found at a la Maison in Baldwinsville, New York.

Living Beautifully… Architectural Medallions

Architectural accents are a great option for adding old world charm to your space.  The detail and texture of our cast medallions  will add instant warmth and elegance to your home.

Park Hill Medallion

Hanging them in a grouping of varied sizes, or combining them with more contemporary accessories, will add interest and a bit of sophistication to any room.

Park Hill Oval Medallion

I love them hung in a garden or sunroom filled with plants and flowers too – so elegant!

Mantel Makeover… Think Spring!

Living in Central New York, I get really excited when we have sunshine and 40 degree temperatures in January. This beautiful Saturday morning, I can see bits of grass peaking through as the snow melts!

That was enough inspiration for me to redo the mantel to bring a breath of spring inside!

Some white pottery and candleholders paired with some silk greenery and a tall vase with spring branches did the trick.

To keep the look simple, I removed a large piece of framed art, and have the vase and branches stand in as my focal point. Then I added a couple of vignettes on either side composed of white pottery, small ferns and succulents and a pair of beige and white candlesticks. The similar fern arrangements on either end will appeal to those who favor symmetry:)

Happy Spring!

Living Beautifully… Winter White Mantel

I went for a more natural mantel in the Baldwinsville store to gently bring in the holiday and winter season.

An ornate frame painted ivory, a couple of moss wreaths and – with simple off-white bows… and a group of ivory lanterns and candles – along with some hanging tile medallions were just enough to give the holiday feel.
